Gurugram is the first in Delhi-NCR to install a 24×7 ‘COMMUNITY FRIDGE’ to help the needy

A group of residents have installed a 24*7 community fridge to make food accessible for the needy people, and that too, free of cost.

Anyone can donate surplus food, and it will be available for the needy, Anybody can pick up the food,  Free of Cost.

The fridge is placed near the exit gate of the Society and is accessible to all 24×7, you can come and keep decently packed leftovers, or extra food, and any poor or needy person can pick up the food from the fridge free of cost.

“This is part of a bigger initiative we are trying to implement in our society. We began waste management and segregating the dry waste that is recyclable. Over 30 families were involved in the initiative. While we were doing that, we thought of also working towards reducing our food waste,” says Gurgaon resident and IT professional Rahul Khera, one of the minds behind the initiative, Sharing Shelves, which attempts to reduce food wastage.

Everyone should come together to give our India a new way, such that no one sleeps with a hungry stomach.
